Full Moon Eclipse in Taurus

This weekend we have the Full Moon Eclipse in Taurus on Saturday at 9.23pm (BST). This Lunar Eclipse will be a Partial Eclipse (you can read about the different types of Lunar Eclipse here) and it will be visible in the UK, so we are very excited at my house!!

The eclipse will begin at 7.01pm and we should see the Moon start to dim then. From about 8.35pm, the Moon will start to enter the Earth's shadow, which will be visible on the Moon. The eclipse reaches its peak at 9.14pm and the whole thing will be over by 11.26pm.

There is a lot going on with this Full Moon so let’s break it down!!

This Eclipse is on the North Node (read more about the nodes here) and so will be bringing in new opportunities and changes to our lives. Remember that in order to bring something new in, we often have to create space for it and with this occurring under an Eclipse, that change could be rather dramatic and life-shattering. Remember that if you are expecting the worst, it’s highly likely to happen. And if you are expecting something new and exciting then it's coming.

This Full Moon is happening right next to Jupiter with the Sun, Mercury and Mars all having a party across the road. Jupiter reminds us that with great risk, comes great rewards. This is the planet that encourages us to dream big and the message of this Full Moon is to allow the feelings of joy and abundance to overflow within you.

The Sun shines a light and gives us focus, while Mercury allows us to express ourselves and Mars gives us the drive and determination to move forward. Be on the lookout for any missing pieces in the puzzle that will allow you to be bold and turn a corner on your goals and projects.

We could be feeling like we are being pulled in all directions under this Full Moon and that if we stop to rest then we will drop the ball and miss something. It could feel like everything is urgent and important but that we aren’t making any progress. It’s time to define what is really important and what is really a distraction.

Some of the themes associated with Taurus include stability, reliability, hard work, perseverance, security, consistency and determination. This Full Moon in Taurus will shine a light on where you feel insecure, where you are being stubborn and where you need to grow.

As a fixed sign, Taurus can be very stubborn and set in their ways. The fixed signs follow the cardinal, goal-setting signs and are here to literally fix in place what has been started. As an Earth sign, Taurus is also very practical with this.

Here are some questions to ask yourself under the Taurus Full Moon;

  1. Where am I being stubborn?

  2. What stops me from being more adaptable?

  3. What stops me from feeling safe?

  4. Why don’t I look after myself better?

  5. What is stopping me from being more productive?

  6. What is stopping me from experiencing more sensuality?

As this Full Moon is in Taurus, it means that the Sun is in Scorpio and we need to find a balance between our feelings and all the practical things we need to do.

When it comes to Full Moons, remember that this is the high point of the lunar cycle, it is when emotions and energy tend to be at their highest and so it is a celebration. What have you achieved over the last two weeks that you can celebrate? When you look back at the New Moon in Taurus on the 19th of May, what goals and intentions did you set? How far have you come with them? What is still holding you back from achieving them?

Full Moons also symbolise endings with the Moon illuminating the deepest and darkest parts of ourselves, this is an ideal time to release and let go of all the things we no longer need. You can use the questions above to help you, but also think about what in your life needs to be nurtured, what is a distraction pulling you away from where you want to go and what obstacles are you currently facing?

Write this down in as much detail as you can, purging all those feelings of pain and self-doubt from your body. Write down a forgiveness list, who has upset you recently? Where are you holding grudges? Don’t forget to forgive yourself.

Safely burn this paper and watch as all those doubts drift away. Take a few deep breaths and then focus on all the good in your life. Who are you grateful for? Who supports you? What brings you joy? Fill that space that contained all the stuff bringing you down with all the stuff that lifts you up.
