The Law of Attraction and The Moon

In this week's blog, I’m exploring where the Law of Attraction came from and how you can use it with the moon to create your own reality. I first came across the Law of Attraction when I studied Moonology with Yasmin Boland. Moonology is a branch of astrology that combines working with the phases of the moon and the Law of Attraction.

Since The Secret came out in 2006, the Law of Attraction has become more popular. The message of the book and movie is that your thoughts create your reality. Essentially, if you are always thinking about things you don’t want, you will get more of them in your life. Whereas if you focus on the things you do want, then you can attract them into your life.

The main problem here is that people then believe they can just think about something they really really want, and it will just drop into their lap. And that is not the case. The Law of Attraction is one of 12 Universal Laws, and if you just focus all your energy on the teachings from The Secret then you are missing the bigger picture.

The 12 Universal Laws were known by ancient cultures intuitively and they used them for guidance. They are thought to be the intrinsic and unchanging laws of our universe. One of the ancient cultures most commonly attributed to these laws is the ancient Egyptians. When you understand these laws you can manifest whatever you want and make your life really work for you. You can use them to make your life joyful, abundant and inspired, while also creating the same for those around you. These laws work together, and while you will get some results from just focusing on one, you will get much better results when you incorporate them all.

The 12 Universal Laws are;

  1. The Law of Divine Oneness - everything is connected.

  2. The Law of Vibration - everything is in constant motion, vibrating at a specific frequency.

  3. The Law of Correspondence - repeated patterns and internal/external reflection.

  4. The Law of Attraction - like attracts like, and what you focus on grows.

  5. The Law of Inspired Action - gentle nudges and actionable steps.

  6. The Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy - energy is always evolving and changing.

  7. The Law of Cause and Effect - actions have consequences.

  8. The Law of Compensation - your efforts will always come back to you.

  9. The Law of Relativity - everything is neutral.

  10. The Law of Polarity - everything has an opposite.

  11. The Law of Rhythm - everything works in cycles and seasons.

  12. The Law of Gender - masculine and feminine energy.

The Law of Attraction basically states that like attracts like. Our thoughts, feelings, words and actions all set the Law of Attraction in motion. Everything that we do produces energies that then attract like energies. This can be positive or negative. With the Law of Attraction always at work, we create our own lives. In order to fully understand how this Law works, you need to also understand the other 11 Laws. (I will talk more about them all in future blog posts). For now, we just need to understand that this Law is always at work and that whatever you are focusing on, you will bring more of that into your life.

One of the first things I teach my clients is to get clear on what they really want. If you don’t know what you want, then you can start with what you don’t want and then look to what the opposite of that would be. Once you know what you want you can start building and living your life in accordance with that so that everything you do supports that.

We then bring the astrological side into things as a tool to empower both yourself and your life. Understanding your birth chart allows you to understand yourself and why you act in certain ways. In Moonology, we look at the movement of the Moon through your birth chart.

Every New Moon you work out your priorities, the things that you want more of. We can use the sign that the New Moon is in for inspiration and also the house that the Moon falls in for you so that you make improvements in all areas of your life over a year. On the Full Moon, we aim to remove the obstacles we have faced and anything we are focusing on that we don’t want.

Essentially, get clear on what you want, and focus on that to have the Law of Attraction work in your favour. Then use the Moon to guide you in setting goals, working on those goals and removing blocks.
