I have so much to talk about today that I don’t know where to start!! So be prepared for a jumbled mess!!

Today, Monday 20th March, is the Spring Equinox, when day and night are of equal length. We have spent the Winter months dreaming about what we want, the life we want to live, and starting to make plans. Now that Spring is starting, it’s time to plant those seeds, take that action and see what happens!!

Each of the phases of the moon can be aligned with a season. The New Moon corresponds with the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox with the First Quarter Phase. The Full Moon is then the Summer Solstice and the Autumn Equinox with the Third Quarter Phase. The First Quarter Moon is around a week after the New Moon and so by then, we should be starting to see some results from the actions we have been taking. And if you haven’t been taking any action, ask yourself why.

The Sun moves into Aries at 9.25pm today, marking the start of Spring and a new astrological year. As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries is both the child and the leader. It is a fiery and active energy. This is the time for starting new things, for picking up things you started but never finished, and for taking the lead in your life. Tomorrow, the Moon will join the Sun in Aries for the first New Moon of this astrological year at 5.22pm.

This is a time when motivation and excitement will be higher. We want to work on our goals. We want to clean our house!! We are much more focused on what we want to do, especially as Mercury (the planet of communication) is already in Aries!! Think BIG goals and BIG action, and take a risk.

There’s quite a party going on in the sky for this New Moon. We are going to feel an almost primal energy around reaching our goals, thanks to the Sun, Moon and Pluto. Venus is turning our intuition into a compass so really listen to your body and your gut, it won't steer you wrong. Then we have Mars also making an appearance and trying to test us. Channel this energy into your goals and don't allow yourself to be sidetracked by other people's conflict.

New Moons are all about new beginnings, this is a fresh start and a chance to try again. Aries is a sign of action, a risk taker and a leader. Now is the time for you to take control of your life and go after your dreams.

So what should you do on a New Moon? Well, this New Moon is in the evening, so spend the day if you can doing something you love. Something that makes you feel alive and gets you excited. If you can’t spend the whole day, then plan something short. A run or workout is a good way to use up some of that excess Aries energy. A hot bath to relax and ground yourself. Set some time aside for a dance party.

Once you are in a good mood, make yourself comfortable. Light some candles, burn some incense and put on some music. Or just get in bed!! Think about what it is that you really, really want. Close your eyes and visualise it happening. Think about your ideal day. Where are you, who are you with? What do you do, where do you go? As much detail as possible. Allow yourself to feel the joy and happiness, the freedom or whatever other emotion your dreams bring up for you.

Now make a New Moon Wish!! Write it down. Write down three reasons why you want this particular wish. Write down the emotions it invokes. Now write it down as if it has already happened and in the form of an affirmation. The idea here is to have something you can repeat on a daily basis, especially on those days when you don’t feel like working on your wish. Because they will happen!! Take some time to write down 5 things you are grateful for, and 5 people you are thankful for, and remember to include why.

The day after making your New Moon Wish, come back to it and brainstorm ideas around the action you can take to make that wish come true. What can you do today that will invoke the same emotional state that your New Moon Wish will bring you?

I hope you have found this week's ramblings helpful!!
