On Saturday (24th February) at 12.30 pm (GMT) we have the Snow Full Moon in practical Virgo. This week’s blog will look at the energy around this Full Moon and how you can work with it.

Full Moons mark the halfway point in a lunar cycle. This is a time to celebrate your progress and achievements, to practise forgiveness and to release anything still holding you back. If you look back to the New Moon in the same sign, 6 months ago, then you should have accomplished whatever you set out to do then. And if you haven't, then you should have a really good idea on why not.

The New Moon in Virgo was in September, what goals did you set then? What has stopped you from achieving them? Have you been letting perfectionism stand in your way? Full Moons are when we start to clear out the stuff we don’t need to create space for the things we do want.

Not all Full Moon’s are the same. They are flavoured by the zodiac sign that the Moon is in at the time and influenced by the other planets. A Full Moon is always in the opposite sign as the Sun, giving us a tug-of-war between the energy of the two signs.

Under this Full Moon, we need to find a balance between being down to earth (Moon in Virgo) and allowing ourselves to dream (Sun in Pisces). The Sun in Pisces is pulling our attention towards healing and spirituality, while the Moon in Virgo wants order and structure.

This Full Moon in Virgo is opposite the Sun, Mercury and Saturn. This is going to bring conversations to a point of resolution or close. Come to an agreement or just agree to end the conversation. You might finally find that missing piece of the puzzle that you need to move forward under this Full Moon. Don’t forget to look at how far you have come and give yourself a pat on the back. Full Moons are about endings, but they are also about celebrating.

The Sun is where our focus is, and in Pisces, it encourages us to go with the flow more and watch as our “problems” dissolve. A lot of the time we are stuck in our own heads, trying to learn everything and find the solutions to all our problems. When we let go of that tight control grip we often find the solutions come to us with no effort.

Mercury is the planet of communication and in Pisces, this is going to make everything seem murky. There is no black and white, no right and wrong answers, no clear path. Again, going with the flow is the best thing to do here.

Saturn is the planet of structure and boundaries and in Pisces, we are looking at the walls we have built around us, are they there to protect us or are they keeping the things we want out? Where are you giving up too easily instead of committing to a course of action and seeing it through?

With the Sun, Mercury and Saturn having a little party together, we can get clear on our goals and what is important to us. Saturn wants us to slow down and focus on our daily tasks, putting one foot in front of the other to get things done at a slower pace. This is a tea party inviting us to regather our focus and slow down, it’s not a high-energy rave.

This Full Moon is also receiving good feelings from Jupiter. Watch out for that aha moment and allow yourself to feel the joy and sense of abundance. The Sun is also adding its energy here and encouraging us to have more fun, to be more creative and let our dreams run wild!!

Jupiter is also spreading their influence with Venus and Mars. With Venus, the planet of love and abundance, we are being encouraged to do more of the things we love and less of the things we have to do. With Mars, the planet of drive and determination, disagreements won’t be worth the energy, instead, we will want to start new projects, make commitments and take some risks. And with Venus and Mars coming together, we will be more aggressive in going after what we want. Try not to be too pushy, instead have more fun and let your creative side out.

Virgo is one of the four mutable signs, which bridge the gap between the fixed signs and the start of the next season and cardinal signs. These are the most flexible signs and know that change is coming, making them more open-minded. Virgo has themes around health, habits and routines, making it an ideal Full Moon for looking at changes you need to make to your day-to-day to support yourself better.

As one of the three Earth element signs, Virgo is analytical, practical, organised, hardworking and adaptable. This is the sign that likes to dot the i’s, cross the t’s and make sure all their ducks are in a row. Virgo can be a perfectionist and over-critical, but they also love to be of service to others.

When looking at what is holding you back that you need to release under the Virgo Full Moon, we can use the themes and energy of this sign to help us. Here are some questions you can ask yourself to get the most from this energy.

  1. Where do I need to heal?

  2. What is stopping me from being healthier?

  3. How can I ground myself and still move forward?

  4. Where am I being too critical?

  5. Where am I inflexible?

  6. What will support my self-improvement?

This Full Moon is about taking time to slow down and refocus on your goals. Allow your next steps to come to you, and then take action. Allow the things, people and conversations that you no longer need to fall away and focus on what is important to you.
