Two weeks ago my blog looked at Lunar Planning, and honestly, I could have written a lot more but I was already close to 1800 words so I decided it would be better to just break it down into two parts instead. I was going to write part 2 the following week, but then remembered the Full Moon Eclipse!!

In part 1, I talked about the Phases of the Moon and how to work with that energy in your planning. As a quick recap, we can set our intentions on the New Moon, begin taking action during the Waxing Crescent Phase, and pause to review our progress on the First Quarter Moon. We then build momentum and excitement during the Gibbous Phase before celebrating our progress on the Full Moon. The Disseminating Phase is when we start to slow down with review and reflection taking place on the Third Quarter Moon. The final phase is for rest and thinking about our dreams, goals and wishes.

This is a great place to start and a wonderful way to pace yourself. We can add an additional layer when we start to look at the daily moon, the sign the moon is in each day. This gives us practical things that we can do each day. Let’s start with a quick astrology lesson.

Astrology maps the Sun, Moon and Planets through the 12 signs of the zodiac. It does this by dividing the sky into 12 equal sections, each one representing a zodiac sign. Most people know what their Star Sign is, the sign that the Sun was in at the moment they were born which is more accurately called your Sun Sign.

The Sun spends roughly 30 days in each zodiac sign, which for planning purposes, gives us a month-long container to work in. When the Sun and Moon are in the same sign, we get a New Moon, where we can set intentions around the theme and energy of that sign. When the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs, we get a Full Moon, with a span of 6 months between (for example) the New Moon in Aries and the Full Moon in Aries.

The 12 signs are split into 4 elements, Fire, Earth, Air and Water. In that predictable order, which just like the phases, allows us to pace ourselves. The Fire signs are generally the most passionate, and they are Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. The Earth signs are more down to earth, and they are Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. Then the Air signs tend to live in their heads, and they are Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. And finally, the Water signs are the more emotional, and they are Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.

The Fire signs are fiery and impulsive, they are passionate and bring heat wherever they go. This makes them ideal for starting or finishing projects, giving anything a boost of excitement or motivation, getting creative, making announcements and taking risks. Planning-wise, we can use these days for the things that excite us, to start new projects or to pick up old ones.

The Earth signs are steady, practical, down-to-earth, solid, strong and reliable signs. This makes them good for anything that requires deep focus or concentration. Making anything in bulk, batch cooking or creating content will feel easier on these days. Bookkeeping, planning, setting dates, and anything that helps you to be more organised are great things to plan on these days. This is when we buckle down to work on the things we started under a Fire Moon.

The Air signs are breezy, social and all about ideas and intellect. These are great days for catching up on general admin, life and business. Air signs are the most social, so planning networking and social events for these days is great. This is where we can review our progress on our current projects and decide which direction we want to go next. Asking for help if we need it.

The Water signs are emotional, dreamy and feel all the feelings. They are more ethereal and less showy offy. Planning-wise, these days are great for self-care, mindset work, assessing how you feel about your progress and any creative work. Spending time with family or alone and just taking a break is ideal, or working slowly and behind the scenes. This is the resting period before we start again with the next Fire Moon.

As the moon moves through the four elements we can work in flow with that energy. On Fire days, we can start new projects, pick up existing projects and make exciting new plans. When the moon moves into an Earth sign, we can our exciting ideas and projects and turn them into a practical plan of action. This is when we would buckle down and do the work. The following Air moon gives us a chance to review our progress so far, catch up on quick tasks and hang out with friends. The Water moon is a time to slow down and rest so that when the next Fire moon comes we are ready to take action.

The moon spends two and a bit days in each sign, and when the moon changes sign you may find that your mood also changes. While the moon is in each sign, she takes on the qualities of that sign. This gives us the opportunity to assign tasks each day, based on the energy of the moon.

As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries is a good starting point for everything. When the moon is here we can make a plan for the year, month, week, whatever we need. This determined and courageous energy is great for setting goals or recommitting to existing goals. It’s also a good time to check in with yourself, have you been working too hard and missing out on life? Schedule more time for fun on Aries moon days.

Taurus is the sign associated with riches, creature comforts, cash, property and possessions. When the daily moon is in this sign, making a financial plan and checking your budget works well. Look at your savings, income and outgoings. As a stubborn sign, ask yourself if you are digging your heels in and chasing after what you really want. This is also a time to consider how you value yourself and to reconnect with your more sensual side. Schedule tasks that make you feel good in the long term, rather than quick wins, on Taurus moon days.

Gemini is known as the sign of communication, how you speak, listen, read, write and learn. The daily moon here is good for creating to-do lists, reading books, meditating and working on your communication skills. Are you expressing yourself fully? Are you able to get your message across? Schedule time with siblings and social events, and plan short trips with the Gemini daily moon.

Cancer is the sign of home and family, making these days ideal for spending time with family and at home. Take a moment to check in with yourself and where you are in your life, how well you are eating and how secure you feel. Schedule family dinners, talk to parents and grandparents, and clean your home on the days when the moon is in Cancer.

Larger than life, and often self-centred, is Leo, the sign ruled by the Sun, the giver of life. This is a time to let your hair down, to show the world what you have got and love yourself completely. Indulge yourself and make time for flirting and romance. Schedule creative activities and fun on Leo moon days.

Virgo is an extremely handy sign that loves to help others. This is when we can get organised and take inventory of our life. Look at your finances, think about your diet and your daily routines. Are you being helpful to those around you, or are you being lazy? How can you give back and support other people? When the daily moon is in Virgo, it’s time to settle down and get to work. Schedule time to work on projects and volunteer work.

Libra is the sign of partnerships, balance and justice. If there are any issues you need to resolve in any of your relationships, now is the time. This is also a good time to start new relationships, partnerships or collaborations. Attending to legal documents, contracts or negotiations are also well suited to Libra moon days. Schedule dates, networking events, and social gatherings.

The mysterious and alluring Scorpio has a dark gothic vibe. This can be a pent-up and tortured energy and is the sign associated with death and taxes. This is where your money meets other people's money, so checking your finances, and anything to do with loans and credit cards is good here. Letting go of unhealthy attachments and anger, and getting energetically clear is also great here. Schedule time for yourself or romantic date nights on Scorpio moon days.

The cheerful and happy Sagittarius energy wanders through life expecting good things. This expansive sign is all about travel, adventure and broadening your mind. This is a time to plan annual holidays, have more fun and look at the bigger picture of your life. Are there any courses that would like to do, or anything you would like to learn? Schedule new and exciting things that will add to your life on Sagittarius moon days.

Capricorn is the most ambitious and disciplined sign. Think about your ambitions and what success means to you on these days. What mark do you want to leave on the world? This is when we decide the future is going to be different and make a plan of how. Schedule time to work on your goals and career on Capricorn moon days.

Aquarius has a jangly sort of energy and is very modern and detached. Sometimes taking a step back from a situation allows us to understand it better and find a solution. Aquarius loves out-of-the-box thinking. The focus is on one-to-many rather than one-to-one, so schedule time with communities and social groups on these days. Giving back or with a shared hobby.

The last sign of the zodiac is Pisces, the mysterious dreamer. This is a good time to heal any upsets, surrender control and look back over the last year, month or week. Work through your fears and connect with your intuition. Schedule downtime on Pisces moon days.

As you can see, some days are better for socialising, some for focusing on work and big projects, and some days are best for rest.
