The Right Time
I wasn’t sure what to write about for this week’s blog, so I decided to look at the collective energy for this time of year, the things I have observed, and give a bit of a personal update.
Last month, I saw so many social media posts about how September was the Business New Year. Over the summer, I also saw lots of posts about how slow August had been, how people had really struggled to make sales, and it really seemed like the world had come to a stop for the summer holidays!! Of course, this wasn’t true, but it was the general vibe that I got from my little space on the internet.
Then September came, the kids went back to school, and suddenly it was Business New Year!! I’m unsure if the people who experienced a slow August noticed any difference in September.
Personally, I used August for market research calls, working with 3 clients and spending extra time with my daughter. I then took the first week back at school off as I needed to recharge my batteries.
Now we have come to October and the final Quarter of the year, and my social media feed is full once more of goal-setting posts, end the year strong, have a great final quarter, and set yourself up for success in 2024!!
For me, I have already set my goals for the end of the year as I work with the Moon’s cycle, not the traditional calendar that everyone else does. I started my final quarter of the year with the New Moon in Libra because Libra is a Cardinal (goal-focused) sign. I guess that means I’m 2 weeks ahead of everyone else?
Last week, we had the Full Moon in Aries. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and so has themes around new beginnings, freshness and newness. Which again, seems like a great energy for setting intentions for the last 3 months of the year.
Full Moons are normally about endings, not beginnings, and the Full Moon in Aries was really a time to ask yourself why you haven’t achieved your goals, to look at the challenges and obstacles you feel like you are facing in achieving your goals, and thinking about how you can approach them. With that in mind, this is a good time to think about how you want to end the year.
Something else that I recently saw on social media, was the idea that what you do now will determine what happens in 90 days. In a world of next-day delivery, we want to take action and see the results now, not in 90 days' time, and this often leads to us giving up when we don’t immediately see results.
Something that I was thinking about on the New Moon in Libra, and continue to consider now, is what will 2024 look like for me if I just focus on one thing until the end of the year? One of the biggest things I have had to learn in my business is that just because I talked about my offer once, doesn’t mean people even saw it. Posting once and expecting sales is extremely unrealistic at the start of your business journey and isn’t a sign that no one wants to buy (which I took it as).
I have challenged myself to only talk about and promote my Aligned Action offer, which is something I have been working on for years and tested out over the summer with 3 clients. Now that it is finally ready, I’m excited to talk about it and promote it. Of course, when I don’t immediately make sales I will feel disheartened and want to give up. I know I’m not the only one that feels this way even though no one seems to want to talk about it!!
I guess what I am trying to say in my usual rambling way, is that your business is your business, and not only can you run it however you want, but you are also never behind. There is always another time to start again or to recommit. We spend so much time waiting for the right time, and there is no right time, only this time.
So ask yourself, what would your life and business look like if you committed to one thing for the next 90 days? How would you start 2024?
