On Monday (25th March) at 7.00 am (GMT) we have the Worm Full Moon Eclipse in balanced Libra. This week’s blog will look at the energy around this Full Moon and how you can work with it.

The Full Moon in March was thought to be named because worms would start to surface now and invite birds to feed, a sure sign that Spring is here. Apparently, it actually refers to a type of beetle larvae that would emerge from thawing tree barks at this time as Winter ends. Either way, it’s a time for new beginnings and to leave the past behind.

This Full Moon is also a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse, which you can read about here. Eclipses occur on either the North or South Node (which is essentially a mathematical point of the moon's orbit). This eclipse is on the South Node and so it’s about releasing our past and looking at where we have been. You may lose something at this time associated with the themes of Libra, such as a relationship or legal battle. Remember that anything that ends now was meant to and is creating space for something better to come in.

Full Moons mark the halfway point in a lunar cycle. This is a time to celebrate your progress and achievements, to practise forgiveness and to release anything still holding you back. If you look back to the New Moon in the same sign, 6 months ago, then you should have accomplished whatever you set out to do then. And if you haven't, then you should have a really good idea on why not.

The New Moon in Libra was in October, what goals did you set then? What has stopped you from achieving them? Have you been indecisive? Full Moons are when we start to clear out the stuff we don’t need to create space for the things we do want.

Not all Full Moon’s are the same. They are flavoured by the zodiac sign that the Moon is in at the time and influenced by the other planets. A Full Moon is always in the opposite sign as the Sun, giving us a tug-of-war between the energy of the two signs.

Under this Full Moon, we need to find a balance between what you need (Sun in Aries) and what you need to do for others to keep them happy (Moon in Libra). The Sun in Aries is encouraging us to take action, while the Moon in Libra wants justice, peace and balance.

This Full Moon in Libra is opposite the Sun in Aries and Neptune in Pisces. We may feel confused or emotionally overwhelmed during this Full Moon. Be mindful of getting swept up in the collective emotions or losing yourself to fantasies. If things aren’t going to plan, ask yourself why instead of running away from your problems.

The Sun is where our focus is, and in Aries, it encourages us to take action. This will be a time for starting new things and taking more risks. Neptune is the psychic planet of ideals, intuition, spirituality and compassion, the domain of dreams and delusions. It is very at home in Pisces encouraging us to connect with our intuition and listen to our dreams. When Neptune passes close to the Sun, we can heal our own emotional wounds and let go of some emotional baggage. Listen to your intuition and take inspired action on your goals.

Pluto is also making an appearance at this eclipse, meaning that profound transformation is possible. Watch out for positive breakthroughs in your understanding of why things are the way they are and what you can do to change them. While Pluto is slowly making their way through Aquarius we can expect technological advances and changes in structure. Remember that you are in control of your own reality.

Libra is one of the four cardinal signs, which mark the start of a new season when the Sun moves into them. These are the most goal-focused signs. They value order, like to take the lead and are great at getting started. Libra has themes around balance, equality and harmony, making it an ideal Full Moon for looking at changes you need to make to how you spend your time and what you are focusing on.

As one of the three Air element signs, Libra is social, easy-going, refined, indecisive and diplomatic. This is the sign that likes to look at both sides and weigh the options, keep the peace and settle disputes.

When looking at what is holding you back that you need to release under the Libra Full Moon, we can use the themes and energy of this sign to help us. Here are some questions you can ask yourself to get the most from this energy.

  1. What is stopping me from feeling more balanced?

  2. How can I love myself more?

  3. Which relationships do I need to work on?

  4. Why can’t I compromise?

  5. What is stopping me from making important decisions?

  6. How can I be more cooperative?

This Full Moon Eclipse is a powerful time for transformation. It’s time to clear the clutter from your life and create the space you need to focus on the things that you want to focus on. If you have been neglecting an area of your life, now is the time to give it some attention.
